hello. was wondering if you have ever caught a American eel. its a major fish on my life list other websites say there here in ohio but I have never heard of anyone getting one.thanks.
I have not personally caught one but have caught a lamprey. I think many of the people that claim to catch an American Eel in Ohio, have actually caught a lamprey. I do see that the ODNR does acknowledge the eel’s can be in Ohio waters, which is promising that one could be encountered. Good luck in your quest to get one. Here is the ODNR page;
